The water is simply beautiful today on Navarre Beach.

The surfers are out surfing and I just noticed a pod of dolphins playing out in the water.

Navarre Beach has had a summer full of slander, but it is still beautiful and ready for guests. The water is clean and sand beautiful. Occasional seaweed can be spotted, but nothing to keep one from the inviting water.

Before July is over, grab some sunscreen, beach towel, and head to Navarre Beach. The place to enjoy Summer is in “Florida’s Best Kept Secret.”

The water remains emerald green and clear aside from a little customary seaweed on occasion.

The water is so inviting especially on 90 degree days in the Florida Sunshine. So far, Navarre has been very fortunate to not face the oil’s dreaded appearance. Navarre Beach is here if you’re ready to hit the beach for some summer sun.

With the new pier officially open, and the water still looking clear, people are continuing to hit the beach at Navarre.

When the surf isn’t up, the water looks like pool water - aqua blue.

Throughout the scares of the Oil Spill, Navarre Beach has fared well. We have yet to encounter any effects caused by the spill. Currents and winds have been in our favor. Please enjoy the photos of beachgoers enjoying Navarre Beach.

Navarre Beach has had no effects from the oil incident. These pictures were taken May 7, 2010, show that the water is clear, and the beaches are open for all to enjoy.

Navarre’s Butterfly House

Enjoy the experience of learning about the unique creatures called Butteflies. While visiting the Butterfly House you will learn about the butterfly’s lifespan - the plants and flowers that suppor its livelihood.

Admission is free although the Butterfly House accepts donations.

The grand reopening for 2010 will take place on April 29. Through the summer season the Butterfly House is open Thursday through Saturday 10a.m. to 3 p.m..

Traffic on the Causeway…

Navarre Beach Causeway traffic will experience minor delays on April 12 - April 16, 2010 due to resurfacing of the traffic lanes to accomodate the new bike lanes. The delays should be minor. Thanks for your patience while our roadways and bikeways are improved.

The Navarre Beach Fishing Pier is scheduled to open now in June of 2010. The pier is being extended to make it the longest pier in the area. Daily and annual rates for fishing have been announced. Daily rates are $7 for adult fisherman and $1 for walkers. Annual rates are $240 per year. Discounts are provided for 6-12 year olds, senior citizens and military members.

The Black Skimmers are coming…

Birdwatchers get your cameras and binoculars - they’re coming. The Black Skimmers, a unique looking bird with black feathers, a white underbelly, and it’s most noticable long red-orange and black beak.

Here at Navarre Beach, Florida, we have a fenced off area along the Navarre Causeway that is considered a protected breeding ground for these birds.

They tend to start appearing here in April and stay until August. You can see these birds mate, nest, and raise their young. The Black Skimmers can be found year round along the Eastern seaboard, the Florida coast, and Central and South America.

These birds appreciate a quiet, undisturbed area of beach, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have created just that with the fenced off beach.

So, while staying at your Navarre Beach vacation rental, take time to walk or drive past on the Navarre Beach Causeway and see our seasonal visitors - the Black Skimmers.
