Beach Road to Open at Last!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

We are happy to report that the road connecting Navarre Beach to Pensacola Beach will reopen THIS WEEK- Tuesday March 3, 2009! The road proves to be one of the most scenic and beautiful roads in Northwest Florida. It transverses Santa Rosa County’s Gulf Islands National Seashore- miles of pristine, untouched beach. Visitors can enjoy a stroll or bike ride along the road as well. Completion of the road will also allow SCUBA divers to shore dive off the Pensacola Beach, Opal Beach, and Navarre Beach pier all in one day! The road was washed away by two hurricanes in the past. After two years, residents and vacationers are very excited about this much anticipated beach road completion.

Help Support the Zoo of Northwest Florida

The Zoo of Northwest Florida Navarre

Have you visited the Zoo of Northwest Florida while vacationing at Navarre Beach? If you have, you’ll know it’s a great little zoo that children of all ages will enjoy. You may not know, however, that the zoo is in desperate need of contributions from the community to continue its operations next year and in the future. The Zoo of Northwest Florida, which is run by a non-profit organization known as the Gulf Coast Zoological Society, suffered damage and loss of tourism revenue as a result of hurricanes Dennis and Ivan. These losses have placed a great financial burden on the zoo. To continue operations and prevent the relocation or closing of the zoo, the zoo is trying to raise 1 million dollars by the New Year. With over half of this goal reached, please help us continue to support the zoo and keep it open for future visitors. Donations can be made by contacting the zoo at 850-932-2229 or visiting their website at www.thezoonorthwestflorida.org. From now until the end of the year, guests of Navarre Properties will receive one free children’s ticket to the zoo upon check-in. If you haven’t been there yet, check out the zoo and tell them Navarre Properties sent you!
