Navarre Pier: Construction May Begin in April!
Do you miss the Navarre Pier? So do we! Fishing off of the pier delighted tourists and locals for years. But in 2004, the pier was severely damaged by Hurricane Ivan and then again by Hurricane Dennis in 2005. Fortunately, plans to build a new pier are slated to begin April 30, 2009. The new pier seems to be bigger and better- boasting width of 22 feet and length of 1,500 feet. The old pier was only 10 feet wide and 900 feet long.
